[WIP] Brussels Midi – Antwerp Central (Belgium) Route – Alpha Preview

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

This is the beginning of a great journey—I'm developing a brand new route for Train Simulator Classic, covering one of Belgium’s most important rail corridors: Brussels Midi to Antwerp Central.

In this early alpha stage, I’m focusing on laying down the tracks and preparing the core infrastructure. The current development includes the full line with the following stations:

  • Brussels Midi (Bruxelles-Midi)

  • Brussels Central (Bruxelles-Central)

  • Brussels North (Bruxelles-Nord)

  • Mechelen (Malines)

  • Antwerp-Berchem (Anvers-Berchem)

  • Antwerp Central (Anvers-Central) (terminus)

I've attached a screenshot showing the track layout on the map so far.

My goal is to create a realistic and immersive experience, complete with accurate station layouts, Belgian signaling, and detailed scenery over time.

If you're interested in contributing to this project—be it with modeling, research, scenery design, or testing—please feel free to contact me at belgiumrail@gmail.com. All help is appreciated!

Thanks,
BelgiumRail

Hello,

Congratulations, looks interesting. What's the length of the line? (I'm not familiar enough with Belgium geography 😁).

Bonjour,

Félicitations, ça a l'air intéressant. Quelle est la longueur de la ligne ? (Je ne connais pas assez la géographie de la Belgique 😁).

Hi, thanks for your message, the line is about 47 km long

Ok nice, is it a scenic route or mostly flat countryside? I could test when it will be sufficiently advanced.

BTW, the text you quoted is in french although I wrote it in english, I'm curious why/how?

It's a 100% flat route.

There's a tunnel of about 1 km between Brussels South and Brussels North, but the rest is flat.
Of course, you could test it, but before you can try it, there's still a long way to go.

It's funny that it's written in French — it's simply because part of Belgium speaks French. I'm one of them, so I'll just translate it on my computer.

I'll publish pictures of the route every week. :D

Good luck then. The level of expectations for a TS route in 2025 is quite high 😁

The obsolete game engine can still do nice things, but it needs a lot of work from the creators.

Hello everyone,

Here’s a preview of my ongoing recreation of Schaerbeek Station.
The project is still in progress — catenary, signaling, and various decorative elements are yet to be added.

While mainly a pass-through station on the line, I aimed to give it a realistic visual atmosphere.

I’m currently looking for 3D modelers who could help with custom assets, your support would be greatly appreciated.
If you're interested or would like more information, feel free to contact me at belgiumrail@gmail.com.

Feedback and suggestions are also welcome!

Have a great week, everyone!
