Découlant du prototype BB 8001 et de la famille des BB 300 (des BB Midi en général), ces locomotives à courant continu ont été conçues dans un objectif de polyvalence. Contemporaines des dernières machines à vapeur, qu'elles remplacent au fil des électrifications, les BB 8100 sont visibles sur la plupart des lignes électrifiées en 1500V continu.
La robustesse de ces machines a valu à quelques unités d'être sélectionnées pour être transformées en locomotive de manœuvre BB 80000. À noter que du fait de leur faible longueur ( 12 m 92 ), ces machines étaient très appréciées pour les manœuvres de refoulement (marche arrière) en tête de train. Elles ont été "machine de base" (lors des écoles de formation de mécanicien) pour des générations de conducteurs du réseau SUD-EST (axe PLM). "On les aimait bien avec leur bonne bouille et facile à dépanner."

De 1948 à 1960 environ, les BB 8100 sont de véritables machines mixtes : on les voit autant sur des trains de voyageurs ( vitesse limitée à 100 km/h ) que de marchandises.
À partir de 1960, l'arrivée des BB Jacquemin (BB 9200, BB 9300) plus rapides provoquent la réorganisation des BB 8100 et leur affectation aux trains de marchandises. Grâce à leur possibilité de marche en unités multiples ( UM )à partir du début des années 70, les BB 8100 se voient confier les trains lourds (jusqu'à 3200T ) circulant en vallée du Rhône (rive droite) tractant les fameux trains d'hydrocarbure de 3200 tonnes. Seules machines à être "tournées sur plaque" en rotonde en UM. Les premières radiations de la série ont lieu en 1988, alors que certaines unités se voient transformer en BB 80000 afin d'effectuer un service de manœuvres.
Les unités ont été radiées en 2003, à l'exception de 3 unités : BB 8120, 8216 et 8229 conservées par l'activité infra au dépôt d'Avignon équipés de pantographes racleurs de givre . Toutefois ces dernières machines ont été radiées 8 ans plus tard en décembre 2011.

Voici, après deux ans de dur travail, la BB 8100, de loin ma machine préférée. Cette première version comprend deux versions de la motrice, une livrée verte et une livrée béton. D'autres variations sont prévues. Ces modèles et leur cabine sont des machines de la première tranche au type de la fin des années 80, sans KVB et avec cablots UM.
N'oubliez pas de lire la volumineuse documentation fournie dans le zip, le modèle est (normalement) très fidèle au comportement d'une véritable BB 8100 mais vos commentaires sont les bienvenues pour parvenir au graal de la simulation de cette machine qui me tient particulièrement à coeur.

Vous trouverez dans ce package 7 décorations différentes d'un wagon céréalier de 94m3 et de fabrication Fauvet Girel. Sa construction date de 1974. C'est un des wagons les plus répandus du parc roulant de céréaliers à faces planes. N'hésitez pas à poster d'éventuelles bugs. Le pack de son RSWO, obligatoire pour la sonorisation des wagons, est inclus dans ce fichier.

Assez lourd en polygones, à utiliser avec parcimonie en bord de voie.

Les BB 4700 sont une série d'anciennes locomotives électriques 1500V de la Compagnie du Midi, intégrées aux effectifs de la SNCF à la nationalisation de 1938. Elles sont très proches des BB 4200 et ont d'ailleurs fait l'objet de modifications croisées entre les deux séries.Elles constituent la troisième génération de BB Midi.
 
Ce modèle représente la locomotive dans un état hybride, proche de celui qu'on pouvait voir à la fin des années 70 et au début des années 80.
 
Les nouvelles fonctions de TS2012 comme la gestion de la pluie sur les vitres et les phares sont incluses. Ce modèle n'est par conséquent pas compatible avec Rail Simulator première version.
